Pig in the Pot

This pig looks like a really unpleasant cartoon character.

Red Cat in the Pot

I was thinking this could be used as a soup bowl, but a friend who is a lifelong kitchenware enthusiast didn't think so.  It's a slab bowl with a big, primitive cat head sculpture on the inside.

Black Cat in the Pot

This is a slab pot with a primitive sculpture of a cat head inside.  It's meant to be used as a soup bowl.

Giraffe Pendants

This was a fun commission.  Most of my giraffes end up as smiling giraffes: (Giraffe Column, Giraffe Pot, Giraffe-Hydra-Tree, Giraffe Lich, Giraffe Cup).  I made 14 and 12 survived, a few with missing legs.

Babadook Sculpture

This is a sculptural interpretation of the monster from The Babadook. I was expecting the manganese oxide to come out black instead of brown.  This is one of my very favorite horror films.  Great directing, great acting (especially from the child star), amazing art department.  The film itself is spooky, but the pop-up book that serves to let an evil spirit access to the house is terrifying.  This is based on an illustration from the book.

Practice Skulls 2

I needed some skulls for a pottery project and these were used as practice.  They're obviously very distorted and the ones that finally made it onto the pot (which I just glazed this morning) are also very distorted.
