Aberrant Ceramics is the artwork of Aaron Nosheny, potter and ceramic artist based in Tucson, Arizona. Self-taught and neurodivergent, he has worked in the medium of stoneware clay since 2004, developing a practice rooted in literal construction and obsessive repetition. He makes non-traditional ceramics in a medium built on tradition, exploring the overlap between wonder and revulsion. Subject matter includes sympathetic monsters, insects, opossums, fast food mascots, and Halloween kitsch.
I am in love with my medium. I love the process of frantically birthing clay monstrosities, subjecting them to an epic trial by fire, and sending them out into the world.

The Last Zombie
The missing undead warrior (Zombie 9) from yesterday's post. The hairline and the right eye are from a plastic Burger King figure of a comical Tarzan-type character.

Another shot of the phantom armiger with Squidhead mouthparts because one was not enough.

The whole happy group together in the kitchen in front of a black t-shirt.

Phantom Brigade, Second Group
These are more undead shock troops for use in D&D Encounters - The March of the Phantom Brigade.

I would like to point out that this one contains the mouthparts of Jabba the Hutt's Quarren accountant Tessek.

This one's face is from one of those horrific Christmas decorations of empty-eyed children in choir robes singing songs from some eldritch tome.

Goblins
I haven't found a use for these goblins yet, but I'm sure I will eventually.

This goblin is holding a spear-like object which resembles a joint.

This goblin has TV evangelist hair, is carrying a primitive, fork-like weapon, and wearing a loincloth.

This goblin has a black fur speedo and is running with scissors.

Naga Condom Mascot
This was meant to be a sleestak from Land of the Lost. I think it came out looking like a naga condom mascot, but I guess time will tell.
Here is the finished Sleestak Column. Let me know if you're interested in buying it.

Grell Shroom 3
This is Shroom #12, or Grell Shroom 3. (qq.v. Grell Shroom 1 and Grell Shroom 2)

The brain texture was made using a D&D grell toy from the eighties.

The decorations on the stem were made using the beak and eyes of the grell.
