Finished Lips Cup

This is a slab cup with a molded mouth inspired by Patricia Quinn's lips in the Rocky Horror Picture Show.  I continue to repeat myself.

Clown Column

This is an old piece from 2009.  It consists of a clown head on top of a series of nested cups.  The clown is from a Simpsons episode.  It's based on Bart's clown bed in "Lisa's First Word."

This is a slab cup decorated with a press mold of a smiling face.  The mold cracked while I was making it and the grin is distorted.

Continuing with my theme of ectoparasites, this is my interpretation of Pthirus pubis, the noble human crab louse.  I like how the shape of the body came out.  I'm still having difficulty interpreting segmented legs in clay.  It's also difficult to capture the bristly textures apparent in the electron microscope images I'm using as models.
