This is a practice mask for the workshop I'm teaching this weekend. At first I couldn't get the eyes to not look like boobs. I was using large spheres as pupils and I removed them so now it has large round empty spaces as pupils and they look less like breasts. Now I'm looking at and thinking that it's kind of nice to retread into "my five year old could make that" territory.

Mandrill Mask

Ceramic wall mask of that delightful primate Mandrillus sphinx, the mandrill, the world's biggest monkey. My personal connection to the mandrill is that the Crate Beast, Fluffy, from Creepshow, is obviously based on the mandrill in appearance. Creepshow is the movie that made me love the horror genre.
