/* Pinterest website claiming thingie */ /* That's it for the pinterest thingie */ Aberrant Ceramics: September 2019

Aberrant Ceramics is the artwork of Aaron Nosheny,
ceramic artist and potter in Tucson, Arizona.

I work in the medium of stoneware clay and make hand-built pottery, sculpture, hamsas, ornaments, masks, and a variety of other forms.

Self-taught artist on the autism spectrum. I like monsters, insects, weird animals, body horror, horror comedy, Halloween decorations, fast food mascots, kitsch – and all of these creep into my work, but there’s really no overarching theme. I feel like I'm frantically birthing as many clay monstrosities out into the world as I can.

Be Just And Fear Not Project

Unfortunately an ear fell off while moving it and I decided to dump this.

Golden Owl Sculpture

7/20/19  Owl Without Needles

I was intending on making another cute-animal-with-needles sculpture in the form of an owl, but I decided at the last moment to leave out the needle holes.

Eraserhead Wedding Planter

This one broke on the way to the kiln.  The large column with the baby on it was too heavy to be supported by the base of the pot.  I fired the surviving pieces anyway and eventually glazed it.

Probably for the best that this didn't end up as a wedding gift.

My friend's daughter is getting married.  I've known her since she was 5.  I'm not going to the fucking wedding, but this is my wedding gift. I like how I completely failed to capture Henry's face shape and stunned expression.  I like how the cursive writing took hours. I love how the Lady in the Radiator looks terrifying instead of adorable.  I like how little room there is for plants.  It's a horrible wedding gift.
