Kiln overfired. Evaulating whether it's worth trying to recreate these pieces and then ... the joy of smashing them out by the dumpster.

Secret Confession: overfiring makes them super strong and even if I try to smash them out by the dumpster, there's a chance they'll bounce off the sides and go to the landfill intact.

One of several mushroom stamps I made a few years ago, used here to decorate a mug.

Added some collaged features. The eyes and nose are from a drawing of Karl Marx and the mouth is from an anatomical diagram.

Uploaded this to Dall-E 2 and had it produce variations.

Selected this one to reinterpret in clay.

The ears are given a peanut brittle-like texture with googly eyes of their own. The markings on the central eye look like an exclamation point, but if you look closer, the top part is shaped like a mushroom or the weird P in the old PBS logo.

Tongue is reduced to a small strip and the lashes are reinterpreted into a sundial-like structure.
