Aberrant Ceramics is the art of Aaron Nosheny.

I make hand-built pottery, sculpture, ornaments, masks, menorahs, and other clay objects.

I also use glazed and painted ceramic objects in digitally constructed illustrations, including a children's book and a Tarot deck.

Contact me if you see something you want to own or you want to commission me to make something for you.

Lepelara terrestris

This is a sculpture of Lepelara terrestris, one of the spectral plant species from Parallel Botany, Leo Leonni's psychedelic imaginary botany textbook.  I made it in 2004 or 2005.  Parallel Botany was one of my earliest source books.

Hallucigenia With Dog Head WIP

This is a sculpture of the fossil organism known as hallucigenia with the head of a dog.  It's to replace the broken sculpture that I threw out this morning.

Hallucigenia With Dog Head

This is an old sculpture that was damaged at a craft fair.  I like how dog heads look on hallucigenia bodies.

This is a tall, spiky ceramic vase constructed from slabs of clay.  It has 29 eyes and 29 spikes.

Wizard of Oz Project

These are flat clay figures of the Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, and Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz, based on illustrations from the novels.  It's a gift for my nephews.

Ceramic Alphabet #2

Each letter has a background and the glossy black glaze made it difficult to photograph.

I also made Æ and Œ ligatures.
