Aberrant Ceramics is the artwork of Aaron Nosheny,
potter and ceramic artist based in Tucson, Arizona. Self-taught and neurodivergent, he has worked in the medium of stoneware clay for 21 years, developing a practice rooted in literal construction and obsessive repetition. He makes non-traditional ceramics in a medium built on tradition, exploring the overlap between wonder and revulsion. Subject matter includes sympathetic monsters, insects, opossums, fast food mascots, and Halloween kitsch.

I am in love with my medium. I love the process of frantically birthing clay monstrosities, subjecting them to an epic trial by fire, and sending them out into the world.

New, improved reason why I forgot to include Gregor the Hot Dog Cockroach: it's out of respect for Franz Kafka's wishes that the exact nature of Gregor's transformation not be illustrated.

Glazing this piece and I just realized I forgot to include Gregor the Hot Dog Cockroach. This is pure negligence on my part, but I want to blame it on a lawsuit because I stole the character from some other creator (Franz Kafka), like McDonalds was sued because they plagiarized Mayor McCheese from Sid and Marty Krofft and had to remove him from their commericals.

Rocky Lips

Ceramic pendants in the shape of lips from the Rocky Horror Picture show movie poster. Lips from the poster belong to Lorelei Stark. Lips in the movie belong to Patricia Quinn. Contact me if you would like to own one. I'm on my local Rocky Horror shadow cast. I've played all the parts except Columbia, Eddie, and the Criminologist.

Bat Things of 2025

A variety of bat-shaped ceramic art objects: some sculptural wall hangings and some pendants/incense holders. Inspired by non-anotomically-correct, wisp-like bat shapes on Halloween decorations. Reach out if you would like to own any of them.
