Pages

Aberrant Ceramics is the artwork of Aaron Nosheny,
ceramic artist and potter in Tucson, Arizona.

I work in the medium of stoneware clay and make hand-built pottery, sculpture, hamsas, ornaments, masks, and a variety of other forms.

I’m a self-taught autistic artist working in my medium for over twenty years. I like monsters, insects, weird animals, body horror, folk horror, horror comedy, horror in general, Halloween decorations, fast food mascots, kitsch – all of these creep into my work, but there’s really no overarching theme.

I am in love with my medium. I love the process of frantically birthing clay monstrosities, subjecting them to an epic trial by fire, and sending them out into the world.

Kerubic Eagle Sculpture

Kerubic Bull Sculpture

Made these for the Chariot Tarot card. I went with the flat versions for the card.

Red Robed Figure

Copied from a dollar store figurine.  I assume that's the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch.

Moon Beast Sculpture

This is modeled on a sculpture found at a dollar store.  I don't know what it's supposed to be.

Tiny Many-Eyed Monster

This could be used as a D&D mini, but I'm not sure what it would be.

Bear With Needles

This is another sculpture for the toy shelf in the Angry Mophead story.  It was also an excuse to buy hypodermic needles.

Troll Mini

This was made in 2012 as a Dungeons & Dragons mini.  I think it was meant to be an orc, but I'm going with troll for now.

Eryops Sculpture

Eryops is an extinct amphibian with a crocodile-like form.

I used one on the Empress Tarot card and this is a sculptural version.

Dogface Hallucigenia

Hallucigenia is a fossil organism from the Burgess Shale.  It has always come out vaguely dog-like for me.
