I work in the medium of stoneware clay and make hand-built pottery, primitive sculpture, hamsas, and a variety of other forms. My work celebrates and pushes the plasticity of the medium. The content of the work follows an inner landscape of biological obsessions, psychic damage, and bouncy cartoon animals.

Chiqui
This was an attempt to memorialize my recently deceased dog Chiqui. I'm not used to sculpting realistic objects. The general shape of the muzzle is wrong and the nose is too bulbous. I also used red iron oxide for the darker coloring and I wish I had applied a much lighter coat or chosen a glaze instead. It came out too dark and the texture is rough and unpleasant.
